Anjana Vivek

Anjana Vivek specializes in partnering with businesses and providing inputs in the area of strategy and finance. Prior to her current role, she was a full time faculty member in the Finance and Control Area at IIMB. She continues to teach at IIMB as Guest Faculty.

Other key positions held by Anjana include COO of NSRCEL (N.S. Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning) at IIMB and Vice President, Corporate Advisory Services, Ernst & Young Private Ltd. (E&Y), where she headed the due diligence practice in South India. Anjana was earlier associated with Centre for Technology Development project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which funded technology start-ups and Vice President, NVCF Finance Private Limited (NVCF).

Anjana’s  areas of consulting and teaching include business planning for the short term and long term, finance and financial strategies, valuation, mergers and acquisitions, negotiation, leadership, entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship. Some of her popular courses are the Management Programme for Women Entrepreneurs (MPEF) at IIMB; Venture Capital and Entrepreneurial Finance at IIMB, Finance for CEOs and Business Leaders; Finance for Board Members, Business Planning and Preparing a Business Plan.

Anjana has been a board/committee member of organizations. Some of the positions held by her include Member, Financial Markets and Investors’ Protection Committee of SIRC (Southern India Regional Council) of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI); Member, Financial Reporting Review Group (Bangalore) of ICAI; Member, Executive Committee, Karnataka State Chartered Accountants of India (KSCAA); Member, Research and Publications Committee, KSCAA; Member, Finance Review Committee, IIMB; Member Screening Committee, NSRCEL (NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning)@IIMB; Member, Academic Committee, NSRCEL@IIMB; Trustee, Belaku Trust and Charter Member, TiE Bangalore.

Anjana was the founding editor of the venture activity reports of the Indian Venture Capital Association (IVCA) from 1992 to 1998. She is the author of “A Critical Study of the Growth of Venture Capital Business in India,” a study undertaken under the RBI Endowment Scheme – CTD Research Project: Countrywide Study of Technology Finance in India. She has authored books: "Venture Capital - A Practical Guide;" “Business Planning” and has co-authored, "Handbook on Corporate Valuation." She also has a popular blog “Entrepreneur’s Corner” published by Oorvani Media on citizenmatters.in and has authored many articles - online, in newspapers and in journals.

Anjana is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has a degree in B.Sc (Honours) Physics from the University of Delhi. More
